 The Role

The Operations Manager plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and effective running of the club’s day‑to‑day activities. You will oversee staffing, programmes, scheduling, quality of delivery and operational standards across key areas of the club. This is an exciting and varied role that requires strong organisational abilities, confident leadership, and the capability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.

 Key Responsibilities

 Club Operations & Programme Management

  • Oversee daily operational activity to ensure high‑quality service delivery.

  • Manage class capacity, timetabling, and scheduling to maximise participation.

  • Lead the recruitment of new gymnasts and ensure programmes meet local demand.

  • Support gymnast progression through talent identification pathways.

Quality Assurance

  • Monitor and review coaching delivery across departments.

  • Conduct regular observations and provide constructive feedback.

  • Support continuous improvement in coaching and programme structure.

Staff Management & Development

  • Line manage daytime and early years coaching teams.

  • Line manage and support the club’s CPD Co‑ordinator.

  • Provide day‑to‑day mentoring and professional support.

  • Manage staff rotas, sickness, and leave cover.

  • Support recruitment and onboarding of new staff.

  • Administer the club’s Staff Review Programme.

Collaborative Leadership

  • Work closely with Heads of Departments to align operational goals.

  • Contribute to departmental planning, initiatives, and improvements.

 Events, Competitions & Community Engagement

  • Lead and support the delivery of club events including displays, School and University visits and summer activities.

  • Oversee competition administration processes.

  • Strengthen parent communication and engagement.

  • Support fundraising and community engagement initiatives.

Administration & Compliance

  • Carry out regular facility and equipment safety checks.

  • Manage operational documentation and reporting.

  • Participate in disciplinary and grievance procedures as required.

  • Uphold club policies, safeguarding standards, and Health & Safety requirements.

  Experience, Skills & Personal Qualities

We’re looking for a highly organised and confident professional with experience managing day‑to‑day operations in a sports, club, school, or activity‑based environment. You’ll bring strong communication skills, proven staff management experience, and the ability to coordinate rotas, events, and customer interactions. Excellent organisational, administrative, and digital skills are essential, along with a calm, solution‑focused approach.

 Experience in gymnastics, sports developmental, data analysis, or community engagement is an advantage. You’ll be approachable, professional, flexible, and committed to safeguarding and supporting young people.

About the Role

The Office and Facility Manager will lead the financial administration, office operations, policy management, and site management of the club.  This is a key leadership role within the organisation, ensuring day‑to‑day operations run efficiently, compliance standards are met, and the club continues to provide a safe, professional and positive environment for gymnasts, staff, and the wider community.  You will work closely with the Club Manager, Operations Manager, Club Accountant, Club Treasurer, Department Leads, coaches (paid and voluntary), parents, gymnasts, and the wider volunteer team.

 Key Responsibilities

1. Finance & Fee Management

  • Oversee fee management processes including invoicing, purchase orders (PO) and sales orders (SO).

  • Manage financial processes and supervise the work of the Club’s Bookkeeper.

  • Conduct data analysis and present financial insights to management and trustees.

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and support club budgeting activities.

 2. Office Operations

  • Manage day‑to‑day office operations and ensure efficient workflows.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including charitable status requirements.

  • Work with the Club Welfare Officer (CWO) to maintain up‑to‑date policies aligned with industry standards.

  • Support marketing, event planning, communications, and booking processes.

  • Collaborate with Department Lead Coaches to develop and deliver the annual club events calendar.

  • Oversee management of club databases including early years and participation class capacities.

  • Maintain and update the club website.

  • Lead HR administration including contracts, sickness, holiday management, and personnel files.

  • Support disciplinary and grievance processes in accordance with club policy.

  • Ensure coaching staff credentials, qualifications, and safeguarding documents remain current.

  • Manage IT contracts, office equipment, hardware, software, and staff kit.

   3. Policies & Procedures

  • Maintain and update organisational policies and procedures.

  • Support and oversee recruitment processes to ensure consistency and compliance.

  • Maintain GDPR compliance and uphold strong data‑handling practices across the organisation.

  • Continuously improve administrative procedures to meet current and emerging operational needs.

 4. Site Management

  • Oversee facility maintenance, upgrades, and planned work schedules.

  • Manage cleaning standards, COSHH requirements, repairs, and general site upkeep.

  • Ensure compliance with emergency planning, fire regulations, and wider health & safety obligations.

 Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong financial administration and data analysis skills.

  • Excellent organisational and project‑management abilities.

  • Understanding of statutory and regulatory compliance including charitable governance and GDPR.

  • Experience in HR administration and policy management.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

  • Ability to manage facilities and operational workflows effectively.

  • Proficiency with IT systems, databases, and general office software.

Full Time Women’s Artistic Performance Coach

 Huntingdon Gymnastics Club is looking to recruit a full time Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Coach to continue our success at national and international level.  Our club is committed to challenging the very best clubs in Great Britain with a dedicated team of full-time performance coaches. 

 The Role

The successful candidate will coach across the clubs Girl’s Performance Squads, with responsibility for a number of groups.  An ability to adapt their coaching style to a range of ages and abilities is essential.

Apprentice Gymnastics Coach

 Huntingdon Gymnastics Club is looking to recruit a full-time Apprentice Gymnastics Coach to enable someone to take their first steps into a career within sport.  This is an opportunity for aspiring gymnastics coach to gain both experience and British Gymnastics Coaching qualifications in an established gymnastics club.  In addition they will complete a Level 2 NVQ recognised nationally by Sport England.

 The Role

Responsible to the Head of Participation Gymnastics, the successful candidate will gain experience coaching in a wide variety of sessions across the club.  The coach will undertake a level 1 and a level 2 coaching qualification in a British Gymnastics Discipline.  In addition the candidate will complete a Level 2 NVQ Community Activator Coach qualification.

 Benefits

  • Initial apprentice pay of £6 per hour

  • 40 hours per week over 5 days (either Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday), including 8 hours college release time to complete educational training.

·        32 days of annual leave (including bank holidays). 

·        Opportunities to develop coaching skills through weekly internal staff training clinics lead by our senior coaching team.

·        Funded British Gymnastics coaching courses with mentoring support from our coaching team.
