Head of Boy’s Participation Gymnastics

Huntingdon Gymnastics Club is looking to recruit a Head of Boy’s Participation Gymnastics to continue the clubs success.  This is an essential role within the club and the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of our clubs general gymnastics programme in partnership with the Head of Girl’s Participation.  Our club takes great pride in providing high quality gymnastics coaching across all ages and levels.

The Role

Responsible to the Club Manager, the successful candidate will manage the clubs Participation Programme.  They will have excellent mentoring and management skills and will be able to lead a team of coaches.  The department has an existing coaching team of 12 coaches. The department is responsible for the running of Recreational classes, improvement classes, freestyle & adult classes.  The typical working week will be Tuesday to Saturday, or Sunday to Thursday.

Annual salary of £27,500 40 hours per week over 5 days

Requirements

  • Candidates should have at least a level 2 British Gymnastics Coaching Qualification in either Men’s/Women’s/General Gymnastics, further coaching qualifications would be beneficial.
  • Candidate will have experience of planning, implementing and managing gymnastics programmes.
  • The successful candidate will have experience of building and leading a cohesive coaching team where every coach’s efforts are recognised and they are supported to further improve their knowledge.

Deputy Head – Girl’s Participation Coach

Huntingdon Gymnastics Club is looking for a full time gymnastics coach to join our coaching team.  Working alongside the Head of Participation the successful applicant will play a leading role in the delivery of our girl’s recreational programme. 

The successful candidate will be required to deputise for the Head of Department and lead and mentor a team of coaches with the aim of providing high quality gymnastics sessions which allow gymnasts of all levels to fulfil their potential. 

The Role

  • Lead the delivery of the girl’s recreational and improver programme in the absence of the Department Head
  • Deliver high quality fun gymnastics sessions
  • Deliver in house curriculum
  • Facilitate talent identification within the groups.
  • Additional duties within the club to ensure the position is viable.

Apprentice Coach

Huntingdon Gymnastics Club is looking to recruit a full-time Apprentice Gymnastics Coach to enable someone to take their first steps into a career within sport.  This is an opportunity for aspiring gymnastics coach to gain both experience and British Gymnastics Coaching qualifications in an established gymnastics club.  In addition they will complete a Level 2 NVQ recognised nationally by Sport England.

The Role

Responsible to the Head of Participation Gymnastics, the successful candidate will gain experience coaching in a wide variety of sessions across the club.  The coach will undertake a level 1 and a level 2 coaching qualification in a British Gymnastics Discipline.  In addition the candidate will complete a Level 2 NVQ Community Activator Coach qualification.

 Benefits

  • Initial apprentice pay of £6 per hour
  • 40 hours per week over 5 days (either Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday), including 8 hours college release time to complete educational training.
  • 32 days of annual leave (including bank holidays).
