Huntingdon Gymnastics Club hosted the annual Cambridgeshire County Championships on Sunday 8th September. The competition consisted of several different age and difficulty categories with over fifty gymnasts competing in two rounds.
The coaching team were very pleased with the haul of medals and certificates along with eight gymnasts qualifying for the Out Of Age Regional Championships in October.
Two teams entered into the teams section of the competition with the girls picking up silver in the level 4 competition and going one better in the level 3 competition, winning gold.
Level 4 team: Bella Plant, Olivia Littlewood, Abbie Moesbauer and Ellie Jones
Level 3 team: Hannah Phillips, Olivia Manton, Rhiannon Anderson and Teegan Barnes
In the individual competitions, Huntingdon provided winners in 6 of the 9 categories.
Level 4 9 years: Chloe Harrison
Level 4 10- 11 years: Ellie Jones
Level 3 10 years: Elizabeth MacFarlane
Level 3 11-12 years: Teegan Barnes
Espoir: Tilly Allen
Junior: Maddy Young
Gymnasts qualifying for Out Of Age Regional Championships: Ellie Jones, Hayley Marson, Abbie Moesbauer, Nia Barnes, Charlotte Elson, Ailsa Wilson, Teegan Barnes and Rhiannon Anderson.
In total there were another 9 individual overall medals and numerous certificates and medals awarded for individual apparatus scores.
A huge well done to all of the girls who competed and a special mention to the coaching staff of Tracey Manton, Claire Barnes, Pat Morgan, Claire Stock, Rosie McDonnell, Mat Trenter and Neil Sparrow, many of whom are volunteer coaches who prepared the girls for competition.
