Huntingdon Boys Win British Team Medal!
Members of Huntingdon Gymnastics Club were in fine form last weekend, taking a Team Silver Medal at the British Under 14 Club Championships, held in Leicester over the weekend. Led by National Squad member Jake Jarman, the team included Ryan Cirino, Kian Bell, Kieron Burch, Niall Hooton and Christian Norman, and all boys performed consistently across the six apparatus that make up the Men's programme. The event was won by Birmingham, with Heathrow taking the bronze.
The Senior event was also won by Birmingham Gymnastics Club, following an injury to World medallist Brinn Bevan from South Essex, who had to withdraw from the event. Silver went to the team from Loughborough, with Tolworth finishing third. Huntingdon seniors finished a creditable fourth in a high class field that saw performances from numerous international level gymnasts. The Huntingdon team consisted of James Henderson, Tony Duchars, Benji Eyre, Harry O' Driscoll, and Patrick Murphy.
The junior boys return to the competition arena in 2 weeks time, where they will fight for individual honours in the under 14 British Championships.
