Huntingdon gymnast, Louis Smith, has been selected to represent Great Britain at the forthcoming World Gymnastics Championships to be held in Glasgow in two weeks time. He joins Max Whitlock and Brinn Bevan from South Essex, Kristian Thomas from Dudley, NileWilson from Leeds, and Daniel Purvis from Southport.
The 6 man squad have their sights set on a top 8 team placing in order to secure qualification for the Rio Games next year. Smith, the triple Olympic medallist and current European Pommel Horse Champion was delighted with the selection:
'This has been hard work with many selection events in the past weeks but I think we have a great team that will do well in front of a home crowd at the Glasgow Hydro. It's a very important step on the road to Rio and a chance for another Olympic medal.'
