Sunday 1st March saw Zoiey travel to Luton with her gymnasts who were all competing for only the second time at a tumbling completion. Jessica Childerley, competing in the National Level 1 9/10 years age group improved massively on her previous score with a top 10 finish and Alysia Meakes Nat Level 2 11/12 years also put in a strong performance to finish in the top 10 for her age group. Sophie Loveridge, competing in the Nat Level 2 13+ age  group had a change of routines from her last comp but placed a solid 7th in her category. Considering this is the girls second ever tumbling completion, they put in a great effort and worked hard with unfamiliar routines

Sunday 8th March saw Steve travel to Luton with his gymnasts so they could compete in their part of the regional competition. Competing in the Morning round were Isaac Broadhurst Nat Level 4 11/12 Years and Tilly Allen Nat Level 5 15+. After a slight hiccup on his first tumble, Issac went on to win the Gold medal for his category with Tilly Allen putting in a strong performance, after a shaky start, to win the Silver medal for her age group. Jacob Tuck, who competed in the afternoon in the Nat Level 5 competition put in 3 strong tumbles to secure the gold for a second year

Following on from their regional success, Isaac, Tilly and Jacob will now compete on behalf of the club and region at two quarterfinal events to be held in Peterborough and Sheffield with a view to securing a place at the National Finals in Telford in July.

From having one gymnast competing in tumbling last year to 6 and hopefully more this year, it’s a new discipline that is laying its foundations at the club. Good luck to Isaac, Tilly and Jacob in securing those places for the national finals”
