Members of the competitive boys squads from Huntingdon Gymnastics Club were in action at the East Region Voluntary Championships, held in Ipswich over the weekend. 14 year old Patrick Murphy topped the pile in the U14 category, taking gold with an impressive tally of 77.2 across 6 apparatus, with Clubmates Jake Jarman, Harry O' Driscoll, and Ali Hussein also putting in solid performances in preparation for the forthcoming British Championships next month.
In the under 12 section Kian Bell worked well to take Bronze with two superb performances on Floor and Vault, with Christian Norman working on 4 apparatus. Kieron Burch took Gold in the under 10 section with a score of 65.9, with Ryan Cirino just one tenth behind for the silver, and Niall Hooton scoring 56.9 for 4th. The boys now prepare for the British Team Championships to be held in Loughborough at the end of the month, before making the journey to Glasgow at the start of December for the British Under 14 Championships.
